Best Micromax smartphones

Table of Contents

Micromax used to be one of the top smartphone manufacturers in India. They offered a wide range of affordable smartphones and had a strong offline retail presence.  These days they are still going pretty strong, but have lost a sizable amount of its market to competitors in China and other parts of Asia. Despite stiff competition, the company does still have some great smartphones to offer.

Here is a roundup of some of the best Micromax phones currently available!

Micromax Canvas Infinity Pro and Canvas Infinity

The Micromax Canvas Infinity and Infinity Pro are the first smartphones from Micromax, or any Indian OEM, to feature displays with an aspect ratio of 18:9. Both come with 5.7-inch displays with a resolution of 1,440 x 720. That’s about all they have in common though.

The Canvas Infinity Pro earns its moniker by offering double the built-in storage, bumping the RAM up to 4 GB, and packing a more powerful processor. It also comes with the superior camera setup that includes a 16 MP rear camera and dual (20 MP + 8 MP) front-facing cameras, compared to the 13 MP and 16 MP rear and front cameras of the regular Canvas Infinity.

Apart from the internal differences, the Infinity Pro also features a slightly more refined design, but you do get great looking metal constructions with both. The Pro also comes with Android 8.0 Oreo out of the box, while the regular Canvas Infinity is running Android 7.1.2 Nougat, with an upgrade to Oreo in the works.

The Canvas Infinity Pro is obviously the better of the two choices, but the regular Infinity is still a good option if budget is a consideration. The Micromax Canvas Infinity is currently priced at 8,695 Rupees (~$136.5), while the Micromax Canvas Infinity Pro will set you back 13,999 Rupees (~$220).

There is a 13 MP shooter up front as well, with a wide angle lens.
