Is your project located within the City of Sydney’s local area, OR will it provide significant, tangible benefits to its residents, workers, or visitors?

Is your organisation a legally constituted entity (e.g., not-for-profit, incorporated association, co-operative) OR do you have an eligible organisation to auspice the grant for you?

Have you successfully fulfilled all requirements for any previous City of Sydney grants you may have received?

Can you demonstrate that your project serves the public interest and that you have the financial viability and capacity to deliver it?

Clearly demonstrate the need for your project, your capacity to deliver it, and the benefits to the community. Answer the 'Why', 'How', and 'Who' of your project.

Apply via SmartyGrants

All applications are submitted online. Ensure your legal entity details are correct and submit well before the 4 pm, August 12 deadline. Don't leave it to the last minute!

Assessment & Notification

Proposals are assessed against the criteria. Recommendations go to Council in November, with funded projects expected to start from January 2026.
