Top 10 Best Free Events at Vivid Sydney 2016
Vivid Sydney is Australia’s biggest festival that presents the best in the fields of light, music and ideas. Now, on its 8th year, the festival preserves the essence of converging art, technology and business through elaborate, vivid light installations, musical concerts, new ideas, collaborations and debates.
Events at Vivid Sydney 2016 are mostly free for all. Here are some of the best to go out and watch.

- The Royal Botanic Garden Sydney
Cathedral of Light is inspired by old churches but this one is a vivid light tunnel of 70 meters, lined with tens of thousands of LED light globes. As seen from the outside, it appears to gigantic but step inside and feel the intimate closeness of the space within it.
Artists conveys the message of a community: that each tiny light globe can join together to create a strong burst tunnel of light.

Museum of Contemporary Art Australia is both the subject and the venue for this modern interpretation of timeless painting. Every time people asks what time does Vivid start, this should be a signal that it has.
An experimentation to illustrate the ways that painting can capture ideas of time, action and process was Huseyin Sami’s trademark practice. Sami was one of the artists collaborating for this wonderful event for Vivid Sydney 2016.

The Jaguar F-PACE is in for a fast spin as the creative wizards of Spinifex Group make it experience the Speed of Art once you press the start button. Motion art that projects to a static subject giving an immersive illusion to the audience of motion.

With the combined efforts of different cruising vessels and Intel technology comes an amazing motion of vivid lights on the Sydney Harbour. This uses LED lights draped over cruise ships to give a spectacular light show.

The Harbour Side Terrace is a place for good old partying all month long. It was home to both all-stars and emerging female electronic producers like Yum-yum, JOY, Rainbow Chan and Zuri Akoko.

The Australian Film Television and Radio School (AFTRS) collaborated with Start VR to know the potential of using virtual reality to film production. VR Noir: A Day Before the Night is a interactive narrative to be used as a tool to dig deeper to the potential of using VR as a film asset.
The event includes a VR Noir experience, HTC Vive rooftop experience, screenings of VR Noir, behind the scenes and Q&A directly with the VR Noir creators.
