Rec Room is an online virtual reality game that makes you have real-time chats and gameplay with other people in a totally virtual world. They can hear you talk and of course you can talk to them. The social interaction is very useful in this game with hand gestures enabled with the HTC Vive controllers and how teleportation works when navigating in the play area. You can have some paddle games, paint ball shootouts, ping pong and many others. Players can have the freedom to just mess around or try out to play some games. This is a totally interactive VR game so a good internet connection and a virtual reality PC is a must to fully get that smooth gaming experience.
If you\’re into some competitive playtime with real people and not just NPCs driven by AI, then Rec Room can be your first choice to play.
Rec Room has so many things to be interested about. It is basically not just one game, it\’s a collection of game and other game elements that lets players choose what they would want to do while in the virtual world. There are so many rooms to choose from or places to play. Players can customize their looks, well, for now it could be the headgear, glasses, and clothes that they want to wear for their floating virtual body. You can even see your own reflection in the mirror and when you talk, your virtual character do some funny mouth movements. It\’s like you\’re really there. Physics on the objects like balls and bullets are extremely smooth and convincing. But the best thing about this game is the multi player nature of it.
Go inside the locker room and you can mess around with other players from all over the world who are also using their HTC Vive to play this addictive game.
Though updated regularly, Rec Room still got some rough edges that it has to address. The fact that players can do some games with each other in the virtual world, their should also have some single player games that some might find handy when they just want to play or practice alone. Though if you want just single player, Rec Room may not be the game for you. Some games should be added. The current games are solid to start off, but some games just have to be added. The graphics are not so polished. Yes, it works but would it be nice to have some legs and feet for your character?
For a VR game, Rec Room is solid when it comes to stability and pure gameplay fun, but it has to be made aesthetically more appealing.
