Lighting the Sails – Vivid Sydney 2016
Vivid Sydney is Australia’s biggest gathering to celebrate the beauty of art, the power of technology and the incredible influence of commerce in our lives.
Lighting the Sail happens on the very sails of the iconic Sydney Opera House, using it as a canvas of animated light to bring to the people the Australian Indigenous art from the works of many artists.
This year’s featured artists are Karla Dickens, Djon Mundine, Gabriella Possum Nungurrayi, Reko Rennie, Donny Woolagoodja, and the late Gulumbu Yunupingu. This is more than just a festival but a celebration of culture by using a pattern of sharing systems, interconnected history lines and trade routes.
Lighting the Sails will be on 27th of May to the 18th of June with lights from 6pm to 11pm.
