With a rhythm section born in West Africa, this brilliant 8 piece band has an intoxicating upbeat sound, bringing the influences of reggae, funk and rap to West African grooves. Led by the ever charismatic, Sibo Bangoura from Guinea, the group has enormous energy, giving tradition a modern twist that never fails to fill the dance floor.
KEYIM BA brings together several of Australia’s best West African musicians, taking audiences on an exciting musical journey, celebrating a vibrant and colourful culture.
Working on new album with a fresh new funky lineup, Keyim Ba continues to wow audiences all around the country.

The Djembe powerhouse, Sibo Bangoura (Guinea), is joined by celebrated Senegalese percussionist Yacou MBaye (Senegal) on Doun Doun, Talking Drum, Sabar & Congas; Jon Pease (Dereb the Ambassador) on lead guitar and Tina Harris on bass. Joined also by well known Sydney musician Blair Greenberg on guitar, Calvin Welsh on drum kit and the captivating vocals of powerful soul singer Paula Baxter (Ghana) with Rachel Bangoura on the dance floor completing the picture.
