Lenovo already launched some of their high end Moto Z in the last months but the new Moto Z and the Moto Z Force is about to be joined in with a new low-priced version, the Lenovo Moto Z Play. While the previous Moto Z that was released first are all flagships in every way with various mods and attachments available for upgrades, the Moto Z Play is just an entry level device worth a closer look.

The Lenovo Moto Z Play specs include the following:

  • 3510 mAh battery
  • Qualcomm® Snapdragon™ 625 processor with up to 2 GHz Octa-Core CPU
  • Adreno 530 GPU
  • 3Gb of RAM
  • 1080×1920 pixel resolution
  • 16 Mp camera with f/2.0 aperture
  • 3.5mm headphone jack
  • USB Type-C

The Moto Z Play has slightly bigger battery than the Moto Z Force but with slightly lower resolution display compared to the Quad HD display of its bigger brothers. The camera also has a laser autofocus, dual flash and a zero shutter lag. This puts the Z Play sits in the middle between the Z and the Z Force in terms of camera quality.

The 3Gb RAM capacity can pretty much make the multi tasking a little slower with the Moto Z Play while other Moto models enjoy a 4Gb capacity RAM. This may not be so apparent and obvious most of the time but gaming and other resource intensive tasks and apps can take a toll on this cost cutting measure to bring the price down a bit.

The battery capacity between the Moto Z Force’s 3500mAh and the Moto Z Play’s 3510mAh is totally negligible. This will be up to each user’s rate of battery use and in terms of endurance, a 10mAh difference is not that gonna be noticeable.

Moto Z Play Droid will be available in the U.S. beginning September 8 at Motorola.com and at Verizon for $17 per month on the Verizon device payment plan or $408 full price. The Moto Z and Moto Z Play will be available in the US in GSM unlocked versions, with pre-sales beginning on September 15 and availability beginning in October. Moto Z will be available unlocked for $699.99 and Moto Z Play will be available unlocked for $449.99.
