- 1 Apple iPhone: How to connect to Wi-Fi
- 1.1 Do you know how to do it? Yes, connecting your iPhone to your home or work Wi-Fi. Are you sure? Think again. Here’s how to properly connect your iPhone to Wi-Fi.
- 1.2 Connect to a Wi-Fi network
- 1.2.1 From your Home screen, go to Settings > Wi-Fi.
- 1.2.2 Turn on Wi-Fi. Your device will automatically search for available Wi-Fi networks.
- 1.2.3 Tap the name of the Wi-Fi network that you want to join.
- 1.2.4 After you join the network, you’ll see Checkmark next to the network and Wi-Fi connected in the upper-left corner of your display.
- 1.3 Connect to a secure Wi-Fi network
- 1.3.1 Secure Wi-Fi networks are password-protected and have Lock by their names.
- 1.3.2 Go to Settings > Wi-Fi, and make sure Wi-Fi is turned on.
- 1.3.3 Tap the name of the secure Wi-Fi network you want to join.
- 1.3.4 Enter the password for the secure Wi-Fi network, then tap Join. If you can’t tap Join, the password you’ve entered is incorrect.
- 1.3.5 After you join the network, you’ll see Checkmark next to the network and Wi-Fi connected in the upper-left side of your display. If you don’t know the password to the Wi-Fi network, contact your network administrator.
- 1.4 Connect to a hidden Wi-Fi network
- 1.4.1 Hidden networks won’t appear in your list of available networks, so you’ll need to know the exact name of the network to join it.
- 1.4.2 Go to Settings > Wi-Fi, and make sure Wi-Fi is turned on. Then tap Other.
- 1.4.3 Enter the exact name of the network, then tap Security.
- 1.4.4 Choose the security type. Not all hidden networks are secure. If you’re not sure, check with your network administrator.
- 1.4.5 Tap Other Network to return to the previous screen.
- 1.4.6 Enter the network password in the Password field, then tap Join.
- 1.4.7 After you join the network, you’ll see Checkmark next to the network and Wi-Fi connected in the upper-left side of your display.

Apple iPhone: How to connect to Wi-Fi

Connect to a Wi-Fi network

From your Home screen, go to Settings > Wi-Fi.

Turn on Wi-Fi. Your device will automatically search for available Wi-Fi networks.

Tap the name of the Wi-Fi network that you want to join.
After you join the network, you’ll see Checkmark next to the network and Wi-Fi connected in the upper-left corner of your display.
Connect to a secure Wi-Fi network
Secure Wi-Fi networks are password-protected and have Lock by their names.
