Summary of Teen’s AI-Powered Auslan Solution Earns Major Prize in Samsung’s Solve for Tomorrow 2025 Competition
Samsung Electronics Australia has today announced the winners of its 2025 Solve for Tomorrow competition, a nationwide initiative that empowers young Australians to harness STEM, AI and creativity to address real-world challenges.
Melbourne-based 15-year-old Faiz Noorani has been awarded the Major Prize for his concept, Access Lens—an AI-powered solution using augmented reality to improve real-time Auslan translation to assist Deaf and hard of hearing Australians.
Designed to translate spoken English into Auslan signs via smart glasses or a smartphone camera, Access Lens aims to help users feel more confident, connected and included in everyday interactions.
Motivated by the lack of accessible Auslan learning tools, Faiz also envisioned Access Lens as an educational platform offering interactive, self-paced lessons. Designed to run locally, it removes barriers like delays, cloud fees and ads, with the potential to be subsidised for broader community access. With applications in both communication and education, Access Lens marks a promising step toward greater inclusion for Deaf and hard of hearing Australians.
Faiz will use the $10,000 prize to further develop Access Lens; enhancing its features, expanding its reach, and building strategic partnerships to support long-term impact.
Faiz said, “Winning Samsung’s Solve for Tomorrow competition is something I’m very proud of. The idea came from seeing a friend who is partly deaf, struggle to communicate in class, and it made me think about how many people face similar challenges every day. I wanted to create something that could help break down those barriers and make communication fairer and more accessible. It’s amazing to see that idea recognised, and it’s a reminder that you don’t need to have everything figured out to start—you just need a bit of curiosity and the drive to keep learning.”
Melbourne-based 22-year-old Ahan Khiani was awarded the ‘Runner-Up 19–24’ prize for his concept, Team Up—a mobile app designed to help adults stay active and socially connected through sport.
Recognising the difficulty of finding teammates and casual sports games after school or university, Team Up uses AI to match users with local teams, open games and fellow players based on sport preferences, location, availability and skill level. The platform also supports community teams seeking fill-ins, helping to foster a more inclusive and dynamic grassroots sporting ecosystem. With plans to pilot the app in local venues and expand through partnerships, Team Up aims to remove barriers to participation and promote lifelong engagement in sport.
Ahan said, “Sport should be one of the most inclusive parts of our week, but I saw how quickly participation drops when teams are short of players or games are cancelled. That experience—and the data—led me to create Team Up, a simple web app that helps clubs and players connect so more people can stay active and involved. Being recognised through Samsung’s Solve for Tomorrow competition is a powerful reminder that young people’s ideas can drive real change when given the right support. Starting was the hardest part, but by staying curious and learning through doing, I’ve seen how technology like AI and STEM can help build stronger, more connected communities.”
NSW-based, Jack Lowe has been awarded the ‘Runner-Up 14–18’ prize for his concept, Eilik—an AI-powered results comparison platform designed to help educators identify potential academic dishonesty in the age of generative AI.
By analysing a student’s historical performance across subjects, Eilik estimates expected outcomes and flags significant anomalies for teacher review. Jack’s goal is to support fair learning environments and ensure students receive the help they need to build strong foundations in science, mathematics and English. With plans to expand its capabilities and explore broader applications in education, Eilik reflects a thoughtful response to one of the sector’s emerging challenges.
Jack said, “What started as a school project quickly became something much bigger. I saw how widespread cheating through AI had become and felt it was an issue that needed to be addressed. Over the past few months, I’ve taught myself Python and built a solution from the ground up, which showed me how powerful technology can be when it’s used to solve real problems. I’m proud to be recognised as one of the winners of Samsung’s Solve for Tomorrow competition. For anyone thinking about getting into STEM or AI – stick with it. It’s not always easy, but the effort you put in can lead to something genuinely meaningful”
In addition to prize money, each of the three winners received a Samsung ‘Productivity Pack’ including a Galaxy Z Flip7/Galaxy A56, Smart Monitor M70D and Galaxy Buds3.
Brett Turnbull, Director of Corporate Marketing at Samsung Electronics Australia, said, Programs such as Samsung’s Solve for Tomorrow are more than competitions – they’re a launchpad for the problem solvers and innovators our future depends on. By backing young Australians with the skills and support to explore STEM and AI capabilities, we’re helping to shape a pipeline of talent ready to drive progress and make a real change, both in their communities and future industries”
Dr Kirsten Banks, Astrophysicist, STEM advocate and Solve for Tomorrow 2025 Ambassador, said, “Each year, I’m impressed by the depth of thinking and creativity shown by young Australians using STEM and AI to address real-world issues. The 2025 entries show just how powerful technology can be when paired with empathy and purpose. It’s inspiring to see these ideas not only tackle complex challenges, but also reflect a deep commitment to inclusion, education, and community impact.”
Now in its 15th year globally, Samsung’s Solve for Tomorrow continues to champion youth-led innovation. The 2025 program introduced new themes—Technology for Sustainability and Social Change through Sports—alongside existing categories Diversity, Equity and Inclusion, and Education. The challenge encouraged bold thinking and empowered young Australians to apply STEM and AI to real-world issues, from climate action to inclusive education. Solve for Tomorrow continues to demonstrate the power of education and industry working together – showcasing how Australia’s next generation can use STEM and AI to solve issues, build new opportunities and create lasting impact for communities.

Summary of Game on, Glare-off: Australians love summer sport and big screens but ‘hate’ on-screen glare

Australian summer is a season characterised by long-days and unmissable sporting moments. While around 43 per-cent of Australians say they like to watch these moments at home on the TV to bond with family and friends[1], new insights from Samsung Australia reveal one in five respondents won’t invite guests around to their house because of on-screen glare[2]. In fact, over half Australians (58%) claim they HATE on-screen glare[3], with 53 per-cent of 18-35 year old viewers admitting to abandoning shows mid-way through due to distracting reflections[4].
Further Samsung insights reveal that half of respondents (49%) draw their curtains during the day to avoid on-screen glare – this number hitting 100% for respondents living in the Northern Territory[5]. Moreover, two in five (41%) respondents say they always turn off all the lights in the room before they watch television, while almost half (49%) of viewers aged 18-25 years must sit in a specific spot where the glare won’t ruin their show[6].
According to Simon Howe, Director- Audio Visual, Samsung Australia, living on one of the sunniest continents in the world is usually a fact Australians get to brag about. However, as Australians increase their appetite for bigger TV screen sizes[7], more people are becoming fed-up with having to rearrange furniture and performing ‘lights-out’ rituals around the house before they can relax in front of the television.
Responding to consumer demand, Samsung developed a ‘made for Australian homes’ Glare-free display technology that uses an embossed coating to scatter ambient light across wider diffusion patterns, providing reflection-free viewing experiences, day and night[8]. The certified result reduces on-screen reflections while maintaining the incredible brightness, object sharpness, and colour accuracy Samsung TVs are renowned for.
“For around 100 years, the television has brought Australians together to watch moments that matter and to unwind in the comfort of their home. Over the years, modern home designs have made our living spaces brighter while our TV screens have gotten bigger, taking on-screen glare from being a mild annoyance to a daily frustration,” said Mr. Howe.
“Samsung’s Glare-Free technology isn’t just a technical innovation; it’s a response to how Australians live and is based on a belief that the technology in our homes should work with the environment it’s placed in, not against it.”
In 2025, the TV continues to be the heart of the Australian home with almost three-quarters (72%)[9] of Australians agreeing their TV plays a vital role in their daily lives. New Samsung insights reveal nearly a quarter (23%) of respondents would buy a bigger TV if glare from windows wasn’t an issue while over a third (37%) are willing to swap their current TV for a glare-free option tomorrow[10].

At the forefront of this tech-driven movement is the Galaxy Watch8 series[1]. Seamlessly integrating into your daily routine, it quietly tracks key lifestyle metrics so you can see how the choices you make throughout the day impact your health.
Before we dive in, let’s do a quick check-in: how many of these biohacks are already part of your routine?
Already acing your biohacks? The Galaxy Watch8 series refines each habit for faster, smarter gains.
Optimise Your Sleep with Biohacking
We spend about 30% of our lives asleep, yet irregular schedules and sub-optimal environments still undermine rest. The Galaxy Watch8 series helps you optimise sleep by analysing your sleep patterns and environment, identifying issues, and giving actionable tips to help build consistent, restorative sleep habits.
How can I follow a regular sleep schedule?
Wear Galaxy Watch8 for three nights to unlock Bedtime Guidance[2]. It analyses your sleep patterns and recommend the best times to wind down, based on your sleep pressure and circadian rhythm, helping you reset your sleep schedule and maximise alertness during the day.
How can I improve my sleep quality?
Galaxy Watch8 tracks every toss, turn and breath of your night. Each morning you get an in-depth sleep analysis based on your sleep stages, heart rate, skin temperature and oxygen level, highlighting what helped or hindered your rest. You can also access a Sleep Environment Report which leverages data from your other compatible SmartThings devices[3] to analyse temperature, humidity, CO2 and illuminance. Summary of The Future is Unfolding in Southeast Asia and Oceania
For more than a decade, a bar phone was the epitome of smartphones, providing us with a gateway to embrace digital lives. Over time, these devices have significantly grown and evolved, embodying considerable changes in both form and function.
Today, we stand at an inflection point. At Samsung, we are not just witnessing the next evolution of mobile; we are leading it, driven by a fundamental belief that technology should adapt to the nuances of how we live, work, and play, no matter how big or small.
Our latest foldable devices mark the unfolding of a new era, with devices like the new Galaxy Z Fold7 and Flip7 as the definitive next steps in mobile computing. Defined by youthful dynamism, a mobile-first economy, and burgeoning creator culture, Southeast Asia and Oceania (SEAO) is the perfect incubator for technology that breaks from convention. More importantly, we see tremendous opportunity in this region to empower a fundamental and lasting shift in user behavior, driven by a form factor that mirrors the different ebbs and flows of modern life.
A new form factor for new behaviors
Our journey began back in 1996, when we declared the “Year of Design Revolution.” This laid the foundation for the human-centered design ethos that continues to evolve to this day: that technology must not only help us do more, but inspire us to be more. This philosophy of putting users at the center of design underpins Samsung’s product portfolio, including the foldable category, and we are witnessing a transformation firsthand across SEAO, where two distinct new behaviors have emerged.
First, devices like the Galaxy Z Flip Series have become a vibrant statement of personal style and a catalyst for creative expression. In the hands of a new generation of creators from SEAO, it is a useful compact companion that supports their creative social commitments. We see users across the region using Flex Mode[1] to prop the device up, freeing their hands to interact with their audience. They are filming vlogs and unique social content, while engaging with their communities with a form factor that empowers them with more flexibility and freedom. In the new Galaxy Z Flip7, an expansive 4.1-inch[2] edge-to-edge FlexWindow enhances convenience and comfort when typing messages and the Now Brief[3] feature is now also newly available on the FlexWindow[4] to easily provide personalised updates like event reminders, music recommendations, and fitness summaries.
Meanwhile, the Galaxy Z Fold Series is redefining productivity for a mobile-first generation of professionals and entrepreneurs. In a region known for its hustle, the Galaxy Z Fold transforms from a phone into an expansive workspace, taking users from convenience to genuine competitive advantage in an instant. This is made possible by our relentless engineering breakthroughs, from our industry-leading durable hinge design, to the continuous refinement of our vibrant, immersive foldable displays. The new Galaxy Z Fold7 is the thinnest and lightest addition to the Series. With a 200 MP high-resolution camera, best-in-class processor, and Galaxy AI[5] optimised for its flexible format and expansive screen, the device unlocks new levels of efficiency and delivers premium performance and experiences.
An intelligent canvas for a connected future
We introduced Galaxy AI in the Galaxy S24 Series, defining a new era of mobile AI innovation. Since then, we have continued to develop its capabilities, and have seen more than 70% of Galaxy S25 Series users leverage a suite of Samsung and Google AI tools[6]. We are driving the future of personalised, multimodal AI and the unique architecture of a foldable is the perfect vehicle for this. With the latest One UI 8 update, our software now integrates a large-screen optimised interface with multimodal capabilities, offering experiences we couldn’t have imagined up until just a few years ago.
The Galaxy Z Fold Series come with capabilities that understand the context displayed onscreen, so you can get things done with maximised efficiency and productivity. For example, with screen sharing or camera sharing on Gemini Live[7], users can simply show Gemini what they are looking at and ask questions to get instant insights. Summary of Your Privacy, Secured: How Galaxy AI Empowers You to Take Control of Your Data
Technology is evolving at high speed, becoming more intelligent by the second. These rapid advancements have brought Galaxy AI[1] to life, unlocking new levels of productivity, creativity and communication. But as mobile AI grows more capable, it also raises new concerns about privacy and control.
Samsung is addressing both in two key ways: by designing Galaxy AI experiences with built-in safeguards that protect user data from the ground up, and by applying AI to strengthen mobile security and privacy protections. While both approaches are essential, building AI that handles data responsibly remains the most urgent priority.
Transparency and choice are the principles driving this work. That’s where Galaxy’s intuitive, easy-to-use privacy settings come in, helping you understand what data is used in AI processing, how it’s handled, and how you can control it. These protections empower you to make your own rules for your mobile experience — and to stay safe while you do.
Advanced Settings for Advanced AI
This freedom of choice comes into play for Galaxy AI experiences. With AI increasingly becoming a part of what we do, it’s only natural to want more control over how your personal data is used in relation to it. Enter Galaxy AI privacy safeguards: a set of policies and protections that go above and beyond to make sure you’re informed and protected when leveraging Galaxy AI.
One of the ways we champion user control is through our powerful suite of AI tools that can operate on-device[2], keeping your data securely in your hands. Whether you’re using communication tools like Live Translate[3]and Interpreter[4] to break down language barriers, or editing tools like Audio Eraser[5] to stretch the limits of creativity, inputs are kept within the confines of your phone. These features offer a safe, responsive mobile experience that runs directly on your device, right at your fingertips — working alongside Galaxy AI’s privacy protections to give you greater visibility and control over your data.
Since launching Galaxy AI, our vision has been driven by a commitment to openness and user choice. That’s why we chose a hybrid approach, introducing a powerful combination of on-device and cloud-based AI. This ensures seamless usability and allows users to benefit from the full power of AI for even the most complex tasks. Advanced features such as Generative Edit[6] offer on-device capabilities and also tap into cloud-based AI as needed for more processing-intensive edits. With Galaxy, all AI experiences are designed with your privacy in mind — even those that utilise remote servers. No matter what feature or what settings you choose, personal data is never stored long-term or used for AI training — whether processed on-device or on the cloud. Plus, with Advanced Intelligence settings[7], managing your privacy is as simple as tapping a button. You can even choose how your personal information is processed, including the option to disable online processing for AI features.
Privacy is the foundation of Galaxy AI, and thanks to our growing list of on-device AI features alongside powerful settings options, so is user control.
Intuitive Controls for Enhanced Visibility
In addition to AI-powered features, it’s critical that selecting privacy settings be easy and intuitive, no matter which mobile experience you choose. Galaxy’s Security and Privacy dashboard enables ultimate control over your data, including who sees it and how it is used, with a fool-proof interface. You can do it all — from viewing and updating app permissions, controls and data-sharing functions, to identifying which data could be at risk through intuitive safety status icons. With Permission Usage, you can even keep track of which apps may have recently accessed your data. This level of behind-the-curtain visibility across settings is unique to Galaxy, making it easier than ever to see how all Galaxy experiences are secured and built to function according to your preferences.
Another cornerstone of Galaxy privacy settings is Auto Blocker[8], a key feature that empowers you to secure your mobile devices without sacrificing usability. Auto Blocker protects your device by checking for malware and other security threats, while blocking malicious activity. It prevents unauthorised app installations, blocks commands and updates via USB, and mitigates zero click attacks with Message Guard.
For those looking for an even stronger line of defense against today’s cyber threats, Maximum Restrictions[9] offers an additional suite of device protections. These added measures offer an extra layer of user control, giving you the choice to block 2G service and prevent data from being intercepted when connected to unsafe networks. They also prevent unintended automatic reconnection to certain Wi-Fi networks that may be less secure.
With Samsung Knox protection and privacy settings that are easy to understand, you hold the power to decide how your data is handled — whether shared or kept completely on-device. Looking ahead, Samsung will further advance AI-powered security technologies to make privacy protections smarter, more adaptive, and even more seamless. And as AI continues to evolve, Samsung remains committed to building secure experiences rooted in transparency and choice — now and in the future.

During the Samsung symposium which focused on wearables and next generation technologies, VP Choi discussed the advancements that Samsung has made in delivering solutions that support health and wellness, detailing how its innovations are shaping the future of health.
Uncovering Health Habits in Southeast Asia and Oceania
Consumer research[1] conducted by Samsung across Southeast Asia and Oceania (SEAO) has shed light on some critical challenges concerning sleep and overall health. The findings indicate that adults in the SEAO region average only about 6 hours and 50 minutes of sleep per night, less than the seven to nine hours generally recommended by the National Sleep Foundation[2]. A deeper dive into the research reveals that 28% of respondents reported “an inability to switch off” as a key concern they have for sleep.
The survey also highlighted that stress levels are notably elevated among working adults aged 36–45. This demographic faces unique pressures, and the burden is particularly pronounced for women within this age group – many who are managing the demanding dual responsibilities of their careers and family life.
These insights underscore the need for greater awareness as well as practical and accessible health and sleep solutions, reinforcing the importance of Samsung’s efforts to develop products and features that provide insights on sleep, stress and fitness for better and more personalised wellness management.
Leading the Charge in Sleep Health
One of Samsung’s latest innovations in personalised health experiences is the Galaxy Watch8 series, newly launched in July 2025. This series introduces a suite of advanced features designed to elevate the effectiveness of sleep tracking and coaching.
The Bedtime Guidance feature offers personalised sleep recommendations that are crafted based on the Two-Process Model of Sleep Regulation – a well-established scientific framework that describes the interaction between homeostatic sleep drive and circadian rhythms. By leveraging this model, Bedtime Guidance[3] empowers users to proactively establish healthier sleep routines, promoting consistent and restorative sleep patterns.
Beyond helping users build better sleep habits, the Watch8 series offers a Sleep Apnea[4] feature which helps users over the age of 22 who have not been diagnosed with sleep apnea to detect signs of moderate to severe obstructive sleep apnea (OSA) over a two-night monitoring period, a common and chronic sleep condition that often goes undiagnosed and untreated. When users are alerted to signs of sleep apnea, they can take steps to seek medical attention and management for the condition, thereby mitigating potential long-term health risks.
In addition to helping users sleep better, the Galaxy Watch8 series incorporates Vascular Load[5] feature. When users wear the Watch8 for at least 4 hours each night for over 3 nights, it assesses your baseline and tracks your heart rate measurements over time. When your readings trend upward, you’ll receive thoughtful suggestions — maybe it’s time for more fresh foods, better sleep habits or managing daily stress.
The Galaxy Watch8 series represents a significant leap forward in empowering users to better manage their well-being through intelligent and personalised health monitoring.
Driving Everyday Wellness
Samsung’s new Watch8 Series also includes broader health and fitness capabilities. These include an Antioxidant Index[6] — introduced for the first time in a smartwatch — to measure carotenoid levels in the skin, and the Running Coach[7] to support fitness enthusiasts. There are also stress management tools, such as Mindfulness[8], guided breathing exercises, and holistic energy scoring[9].
These wellness capabilities reflect Samsung’s broader commitment to transforming fragmented health data into meaningful, personalised insights, empowering consumers to take control of their health in simple, everyday ways. By combining advanced sensor technology, AI-driven insights, and a holistic health ecosystem, Samsung continues to set new standards for how wearables can improve lives — one night’s sleep at a time.

Summary of A Conversation with President & CEO of Samsung SEAO – AI Strategy and Next Steps
The rapid rise and popularity of AI technology has had many companies racing to jump on the wagon. Yet for Samsung, AI is not new. We have been building intelligent connectivity into our devices for over a decade, as part of our continuous efforts to deliver deep and meaningful benefits to users through our technology and innovation. Having unveiled our “AI for All” vision at CES 2025 earlier this year, Samsung is on a mission to empower users through AI at every touchpoint.
We recently sat down with CU Kim, President and CEO of Southeast Asia & Oceania (SEAO), at Samsung Electronics, to discuss Samsung’s distinctive approach to AI in one of the world’s most diverse and dynamic regions. What emerges is a picture of innovation grounded in a deep understanding and vision of AI’s role in creating impactful, personal everyday experiences.
Q: How would you describe Samsung’s approach to AI in Southeast Asia and Oceania region?
A: We’re focused on democratising AI so that it delivers genuine value to consumers across different price points, regardless of their level of technical literacy. Today, 77% of SEAO users of Galaxy AI-powered devices are using our variety of Galaxy AI[1] features[2], which are available not just on our latest flagship models, but also on previous flagship models, FE and Tab series[3]. Users of our affordable A series range[4] can also enjoy AI features such as Circle to Search with Google[5] and Best Face[6] which selects and combines the best expressions for up to five people from a motion photo for a perfect shot.
What sets our approach apart is how we’re integrating AI to solve real challenges that consumers face. Take communication, for instance. Our translation features, which break down language barriers, is a useful tool to navigate our region’s incredible linguistic diversity. Our on-device Galaxy AI features can also operate independently without requiring constant cloud connectivity[7] – providing a reliable experience for SEAO users regardless of varying network infrastructure across the region.
Looking beyond mobile, we are extending this intelligence to our entire ecosystem of devices and appliances. Home AI learns from your habits and routines to develop a hyper-personalised smart home experience for you. This is underpinned by SmartThings[8], our smart home platform that connects and creates truly intelligent homes so you can have full control over your living space.
Q: How do you see AI transforming the landscape across Southeast Asia and Oceania?
A: With AI technology, consumers today have higher expectations of their day-to-day experiences whether in terms of efficiency, seamlessness and ease of use. For example, internal data is showing that AI capabilities such as the AI ProVisual Engine and Enhanced Search capabilities were the most sought-after AI features on our Galaxy S25 series among both Samsung and non-Samsung users. Even in households, consumers are looking out for smart features and functions when considering TV purchases[9], such as our latest line-up of OLED and Neo QLED TVs, which deliver a personalised and advanced viewing experience through their AI features.
In our region, we are deeply passionate about creating new possibilities for the next generation who are embracing AI with remarkable enthusiasm, optimism, and even a touch of resilience. In fact, based on a recent survey we conducted[10], a staggering 9 out of 10 youths in Southeast Asia are already incorporating AI tools and services into their day to day, whether for learning, creative tasks, staying informed, or more altruistic purposes like driving positive change in their communities. And while 65% of youth believe that AI will create new job opportunities, they are likewise cognisant that some jobs will inevitably disappear – further taking concrete steps to learn more about AI and develop AI-related skills.
Q: For businesses and organisations, how will AI shape Samsung’s growth strategy in the SEAO region?
A: The opportunities for businesses and organisations to tap into and benefit from AI in our region are tremendous. With SEAO’s rapidly developing digital infrastructure, businesses here are uniquely positioned to leapfrog legacy systems and implement AI-driven solutions from the ground up.
We want to bring our best AI-powered digital solutions to business partners. Through initiatives like SmartThings Pro[11], we are enabling businesses to create intelligent environments that enhance operational efficiency and customer experiences. This B2B platform is set to transform new categories and industries – for example, providing personalised and sustainable hospitality experiences to hotel guests; or enabling the remote management of displays and devices across multiple buildings in commercial facilities, from shopping malls to educational institutions.
That said, a key element of our B2B strategy is not just our technology, it’s our openness to foster close partnerships to create customised AI solutions that deliver meaningful outcomes. In Indonesia, we recently launched the Samsung Digital Lighthouse School program together with two schools, Al Muslim Bekasi and Salman Al Farisi Bandung, to enhance the learning experiences of over 2,500 students through the Galaxy Tab S and A Series.
Q: What excites you the most about upcoming innovations and what’s next for Samsung?
A: I’m particularly excited to see how our innovations empower communities to elevate passions. Gaming enthusiasts for example, will love the transformed mobile gaming experience on the Galaxy S25 series, with console-quality visuals enabled by features like ProScaler[12] and advanced Ray Tracing, powered by the Snapdragon 8 Elite[13] for Galaxy processor.
When it comes to everyday living, we have moved beyond simple device control to creating intelligent environments that anticipate needs. Samsung Health[15] and SmartThings7 can optimise sleep environments by automatically adjusting temperature and humidity based on users’ sleep patterns and the environmental conditions they live in[16].
By maintaining our focus on accessibility, personalisation and security, we’re working to ensure that AI becomes a trusted companion that empowers instead of complicating daily life. Our upcoming innovations like the new Galaxy S25 Edge smartphone and the Bespoke AI home appliances with SmartThings7, for example, will continue to embody this commitment. The future of AI is not about replacing human capability but enhancing them. At Samsung, we are privileged to be building that future together with the communities across SEAO in time to come.

Summary of Meet Samsung Galaxy Tab S11 Series: Packing Everything You Expect from a Premium Tablet
Advanced AI and redesigned S Pen: One UI 8 enables more natural and intuitive interactions[1], while a redesigned S Pen offers improved comfort and control for both writing and drawing, enabling users to experience next level creativity and productivity.
Smarter multitasking with Samsung DeX[2]: New Extended Mode transforms your Galaxy Tab S11 Ultra and compatible external monitor into a true dual- screen setup, while users can create up to four customisable workspaces for different needs.
Slim and powerful: With a 3nm processor and Samsung’s thinnest tablet design yet, Galaxy Tab S11 Ultra delivers fast, smooth performance in a portable form.
Samsung Electronics Co., Ltd. today announced the Galaxy Tab S11 Ultra and Galaxy Tab S11, delivering its most intelligent and advanced tablet experience yet. Powered by the latest Galaxy AI[3], now enhanced by One UI 8[4] and new multimodal capabilities, Galaxy Tab S11 Ultra is the thinnest Galaxy Tab to date, going beyond a slim form factor to show what a premium tablet can be. Together, the series is built for effortless productivity on the go, combining pro-grade hardware with experiences optimised for a large screen.
With upgraded Samsung DeX and a redesigned S Pen, the Galaxy Tab S11 Ultra supports focused multitasking and seamless workflows, while also enabling creative expression in a sleek, portable form. Whether capturing ideas in a meeting, summarising lecture notes or sketching out visual concepts, the Galaxy Tab S11 series empowers users to handle more with less friction, wherever they are.
“The Galaxy Tab S11 Ultra combines AI innovation with refined hardware to deliver a true multitasking experience that reflects Samsung’s deep experience in mobile productivity,” said Jay Kim, Executive Vice President and Head of Customer Experience Office, Mobile eXperience Business at Samsung Electronics. “With the latest Galaxy AI and new multimodal capabilities, these flagship tablets enable ultimate efficiency – empowering users to work, create and flow more naturally across a versatile, large screen.”
Powering Everyday Tasks with Advanced AI
With One UI 8, the Galaxy Tab S11 series brings multimodal AI to the forefront – understanding what users type, say and see, and responding in real time with helpful suggestions, these tools unlock a more fluid way to work, create and stay in flow across any task.
Gemini Live[5]enables real-time screen sharing and visual input, so users can have a natural conversation with Gemini about what they’re looking at. Whether it’s on-screen content or an object that someone wants to show by pointing the camera at it – Gemini Live can handle contextual questions and requests by seeing what the user sees. For instance, a user in a class can easily screen share their notes, then ask Gemini to interpret a chart or explain the study material and summarise its insights.
By pressing and holding the side button, users can activate Gemini and carry out commands across apps with a single command. For instance, when there’s no time to read a lengthy article, users can share the link with Gemini and say, “Summarise this article and save it to Samsung Notes,” making it easier to catch up later. It simplifies complex actions so users can stay in their flow.
The Galaxy Tab S11 series is packed with additional tools for effortless productivity and creativity – including the full suite of Galaxy AI[6] features, optimised for the large screen.
Users can turn rough sketches into clean visuals with Drawing Assist[7], then even drag and drop[8] images they’ve created into Samsung Notes as a starting point for further ideation – perfect for brainstorming, visual planning or creative exploration.
Writing Assist[9] helps rework tone and style, so users can easily refine a piece of writing to ensure it matches their intended meaning before dropping it into an email, document or other apps.
While multitasking, users can keep Galaxy AI close at hand as a moveable and compact overlay, presented in a floating view,[10] allowing them to summarise the content on their screen without breaking focus.
Circle to Search[11]with Google is now even more helpful for getting context and diving deeper into anything users see on their device’s screen. Users are able to translate text in real-time as they scroll and interact. From news articles to social media posts, users will see instant, on-screen translations of the underlying text in their preferred language.
The Galaxy Tab S11 series comes with the newly redesigned S Pen[12] that’s built for both focused work and creative expression. Its new cone-shaped pen tip supports increased tilt angles for better control, while a hexagonal design provides a more natural, ergonomic feel that’s comfortable and stable in the hand. Quick Tools[13] make it easy to adjust on the fly while drawing or editing with floating access, while Sticky Note lets users capture sudden thoughts or to-dos directly over Samsung Notes – no more app switching required during document review.
Full-Scale Productivity
In addition to Galaxy AI, the enhanced Samsung DeX[14] on the Galaxy Tab S11 series empowers users to maximise their productivity when multitasking across apps, taking notes during meetings or simply mapping out ideas. Whether you’re a designer building out visual concepts or a frequent traveller planning a trip across apps and displays, the Galaxy Tab S11 series features support every step, from researching and sketching to sharing polished results.
The latest Samsung DeX upgrades unlock next-level productivity, starting with Extended Mode, which transforms Galaxy Tab S11 and a compatible external monitor into a seamless dual-screen setup. It runs Samsung DeX across both screens simultaneously for more intuitive multitasking and greater flexibility– now users can drag and drop apps between connected displays or reference a document on one screen while presenting on the other. Also new to Samsung DeX, users can now create up to four separate, customised workspaces for different needs. For example, one workspace can be dedicated for work, another to creative projects and a third to planning a trip.
With the upgraded Samsung DeX, users can set up a full working environment from virtually anywhere – whether it’s connecting to a compatible meeting room TV for a presentation or adding final touches to a work document at the airport lounge just before starting a vacation. Combined with Book Cover Keyboard Slim[15], the Galaxy Tab S11 series easily transforms into a personalised, mobile workstation with instant access to AI assistants through the dedicated Galaxy AI Key[16].
Made to Perform, Built to Move
The Galaxy Tab S11 series delivers its most advanced performance yet, equipped with cutting-edge hardware and immersive visuals in a slim, highly portable design. Samsung brings its enhanced 3nm processor to Galaxy Tab for the first time in the S11 series, offering faster processing, smoother multitasking and more responsive AI features. Galaxy Tab S11 Ultra boasts performance improvements in NPU,CPU and GPU[17]. Additionally, a powerful battery[18] and efficient thermal management ensure reliable, long-lasting use for work, creativity and everything in between.
Performance matched by purposeful design reflects Samsung’s hardware innovation – delivering ultra-thin and light, yet powerful devices ready for everyday versatility. The Galaxy Tab S11 Ultra features a remarkably slim build at just 5.1 mm[19], with narrow 5.2 mm bezels[20] that expand screen space without compromising portability. Across both models, Dynamic AMOLED 2X displays deliver up to 1600 nits of peak brightness[21], ensuring clear, vivid visuals indoors or out, so users can stay focused wherever they work.
Tools That Fit the Way Users Work
The Galaxy Tab S11 series makes it easy to get started with work or creative projects with extensive third-party apps[22]. There is easy access to Goodnotes, Clip Studio Paint, LumaFusion and Notion – supporting everything from sketching and note-taking to flexible project planning. Galaxy users also enjoy exclusive benefits, with special offers that make it easier to explore these premium tools, work smarter and unlock their creative potential. Goodnotes[23] offers a 1-year free version, Clip Studio Paint[24] comes with a 6-month free trial with 20% off your first subscription and users can get 66% off LumaFusion[25] along with a one-month free Creator Pass. Notion[26] also comes with a one-month free trial of its Plus plan with Notion AI, providing added flexibility for writing, planning and organisation.
In addition to these apps, users can explore a broader range of options that support different needs. Noteshelf 3[27] offers customisable layouts for capturing and organising ideas. ArcSite[28] empowers users with precision tools to turn creative sketches into CAD layouts. Sketchbook provides an intuitive space for illustration and concept art and Picsart[29] enables creators to bring their imagination to life through its own AI-driven design tools. Whether users are working on creative portfolios or need to boost productivity, these tools are designed to simplify everyday tasks and streamline workflows.
Launching as the first Galaxy tablet to feature One UI 8, the Galaxy Tab S11 series delivers a more seamless, intelligent AI experience. One UI 8 will expand to other previous generations of Galaxy devices, including the Galaxy Tab S10 series, starting in October.[30]
