A recent report from Weibo claims that Samsung is trying to reduce the next launch price of its flagship device by 10%. This could heavily encourage sales but it comes as a response to the ever evolving smartphone market. The company’s Vice Chairman Kwon Oh-Hyun discussed the stagnating smartphone business and the difficulties that Samsung needs to embrace in order to stay afloat. He mentioned that if Samsung chooses to resist this change then it will never survive as a business, and this is why it’s crucial that they adapt to these conditions. This isn’t confirmed yet and it’s based solely on market analysis as well as Kwon Oh-Hyun’s recent statements, but it seems plausible.
Samsung’s economical future seems a pretty positive one despite the market worries, with the South Korean giant reporting the first profit growth in two years. While some analysts predict that Samsung will exit the smartphone business in 5 years, those claims seem unlikely but the truth is that the market is in a constant state of change and Samsung needs to constantly adapt if it wants to survive.
Samsung and Marvel have a history of working together, most recently the two joined forces to create the exclusive Galaxy S6 Iron Man Edition. Such partnerships have also provided Samsung with screen time in Marvel’s big budget superhero movies, clearly it’s an arrangement that works for both companies. According to a new rumor out of China the two might be collaborating once again, this time on an Ant-Man edition of the Galaxy S6 edge+.
There aren’t a lot of details available as yet about the Galaxy S6 edge+ × Ant-Man, but the rumor out of China claims that it’s going to happen, apparently it’s going to have Ant-Man’s helmet on the back of the Galaxy S6 edge+ and a unique color scheme to go along with it. If it does see the light of day it’s most likely going to be a limited run device like the Galaxy S6 Iron Man Edition, expect it to cost a bit more than what you’d normally pay for this handset. There’s no confirmation as yet from either Samsung or Marvel that they’re working on an Ant-Man edition of the Galaxy S6 edge+ so all fans can do at this point is keep their fingers crossed.
Samsung’s newest flagship devices, the Galaxy S6 edge+ and the Galaxy Note5, continue to blend technology that pushes boundaries with design that is both beautiful and functional. Samsung offers unique accessories so users can truly personalize their devices.
Best Case Scenario
One of the most frustrating things about getting a brand new device is the disappointing selection of cases when it is released. Since the launch of the Galaxy S5, Samsung has offered fashion-forward cases through designer collaborations, as well as its own sleek cases. With the launch of the Galaxy S6 edge+ and the Galaxy Note5, Samsung introduced seven stunning cases, offered in brilliant colors to protect your device and reflect your personal style. These cases include the S View Cover, Flip Wallet, Clear View Cover, Clear Cover, Glitter Cover, Glossy Cover and the Keyboard Cover.
With Samsung’s clever re-introduction of the smartphone keyboard, the Keyboard Cover both protects and offers a detachable QWERTY keyboard. When not needed, the keyboard can be removed and attached to the back cover, and your device will automatically detect and adjust the screen. The design is both practical and convenient.
Samsung’s Clear View Cover is slim and sleek, fingerprint and scratch resistant and offers quick access to all the essentials. The case is translucent and made to show off the brilliant colors of each device. Ten percent thinner than its predecessor, the Clear View Cover allows you to maintain the sleekness of the Galaxy S6 edge+ and the Galaxy Note5. A lipophilic finish and PET film keeps your device looking fresh.
The clear front allows users to answer and reject incoming calls, see missed call alerts, check battery life and access audio functions – all without opening the cover.
Power Up
The newest Galaxy devices come with improved wireless charging that is more advanced and faster than ever. The Wireless Charger pad is the world’s fastest wireless charging device for the Galaxy S6 edge+ and the Galaxy Note5. It’s easy to use with a convenient LED light that indicates charging status. The premium design, offered in white and navy blue, fits any home or office.
Along with Opening Ceremony’s Battery Pack, Samsung offers its own fast-charging portable Battery Pack. Exceptionally practical with a sophisticated design, Samsung’s Battery Pack is lightweight. It provides an extra 5200mAh boost in battery life. With four LED light indicators, the Battery Pack is easy to use. The Battery Pack is compatible with the Galaxy S6, the Galaxy S6 edge, the Galaxy Note 4, the Galaxy Note edge, the Galaxy S6 edge+ and the Galaxy Note5. Just ten minutes of super-fast charging power gives your device up to four hours of battery life, and 90 minutes will fully charge your device*.
*may vary depending on individual usage patterns
Samsung also offers the Wireless Charger Pack which is a protective case, wirelessly charging pad and external battery, all-in-one. Designed for the Galaxy S6 edge+ and the Galaxy Note5, the Wireless Charger Pack is equipped with 3400mAh of power.

Stylish and Functional
Samsung is committed to offering the latest in mobile device technology, and the best in accessories that both fit your personal style and help you use your device to its fullest capabilities. With stylish cases, powerful and fast charging and immersive audio, Samsung offers an abundance of options to reflect your personal style.
The newly announced Samsung flagship devices, the Galaxy S6 edge+ and the Galaxy Note5, were engineered to be as power-efficient as they are beautifully designed. Each has a 5.7-inch screen optimized to display an even more advanced multimedia UX and productivity capabilities. To enjoy these devices to the fullest, each are equipped with better batteries with faster charging speeds.
Each device houses a 3,000mAh battery, more than ten percent larger compared to the Galaxy S6 (2,550mAh) and the Galaxy S6 edge (2,600mAh). In addition, both products have faster wired and wireless battery charging compared to the Galaxy S6. Thanks to this new technology, both products feature the simplest and most convenient battery charging experience, allowing user to enjoy multimedia or complete multiple tasks, longer.
Building upon the fast wired-charging of the Galaxy S6 and the Galaxy S6 edge, Samsung improved the efficiency even more. Samsung created AFC (Adaptive Fast Charging), which speeds up wired charging and lets the battery charger communicate with the smartphone. If the charger finds a device compatible with AFC, it will start recharging the phone’s battery using higher voltage.
Not only is the charger discharging more power at a faster speed, the device battery receives the power properly and stores it cell by cell, to further accelerate the battery charging.
Thanks to AFC, the Galaxy S6 edge+ and the Galaxy Note5 take only about 90 minutes to reach full charge. This indicates even greater efficiency in charging compared to the Galaxy S6 edge, which takes about 85 minutes to fully charge a smaller battery.
Wireless charging also offers significant improvements in speed. While the Galaxy S6 edge required 180 minutes to fully charge wirelessly, the Galaxy S6 edge+ and the Galaxy Note5 need only 120 minutes (one hour less) using Samsung’s new wireless charging pad.
Both products have built-in wireless technology, just as the Galaxy S6 and the Galaxy S6 edge do, freeing users from the need to purchase separate wireless charging battery covers or individual connectors. Additionally, they allow you to enjoy the experience of wireless charging without worrying about compatibility. They support both WPC (Wireless Power Consortium) and PMA (Power Matters Alliance) certified standards, the two most widely used wireless power standards around the world.
Samsung is the first to make devices compatible with both WPC and PMA charging pads. The innovative advances made it possible in the two latest large-screen products, even with a thinner body.
Built-in wireless charging in thin devices became possible only through Samsung’s relentless efforts to continue pushing the boundaries of technology. Because WPC and PMA have different frequency bandwidths, Samsung’s developers had to find a way to satisfy both, with high efficiency. To accomplish this, they designed a new integrated IC for wireless charging, combining two different materials for magnetic shielding required in the wireless charging components to enable hybrid use.
Users have the ability to manage and control their battery usage in a simple and convenient way through Smart Manager, introduced with the release of the Galaxy S6 and the Galaxy S6 edge. With this app, users can see which running apps are consuming the most power.
Samsung continues to lead mobile innovation by introducing technologies that are accessible and meaningful to all mobile users.
I’m sure you have seen many unboxing videos of your favorite gadgets but have you ever seen an “inboxing” video? Samsung came up with this idea earlier this year when it released an inboxing video for the Galaxy S6 edge, basically it shows the device being built from scratch with each component being installed by hand. The company has released a similar video for its latest handset which also covers the unboxing of the Galaxy S6 edge+.
All of the components are laid out on a table and then they’re put together by hand, the battery goes in first followed by the fingerprint scanner and the dual-edge display. In goes the rear and front facing camera as well as the application processor, RAM and onboard storage. Finally the wireless charging coil and metal frame are attached before the device is finished off with the glass back cover, packaged in a box and sent on its way. This is where the unboxing part of the video begins, aided by some very crisp sounds that we always hear when unboxing a new device. We get a look at all of the accessories that come in the box as well as the device itself. The video is beautifully shot and worth spending 1 minute and 21 seconds of your life on.
With an even bigger dual edge screen, the unique and distinctive Galaxy S6 edge+ provides a more immersive multimedia experience, taking entertainment to an unprecedented level.
Like its predecessor, the Galaxy S6 edge, its design is slim, sleek and fits perfectly in your hand while an improved user interface and new features have enhanced the way you communicate with your favorite contacts. In addition to messaging and calling, you can now send emoticons and handwritten memos to your friends via ”People edge.” Furthermore, the new “Apps edge” makes accessing your most frequently used applications a cinch.
The Galaxy S6 edge+ has Video Digital Image Stabilization on both the front and rear cameras which allows for sharp, crisp video on-the-go, and you can also share whatever you’re doing in real time via YouTube with the built-in Live Broadcast function.
See for yourself how these new and improved functions and features make the Galaxy S6 edge+ a truly innovative device by taking a look at these hands-on videos.
